Volunteer

Out On Screen owes our success to our community of supporters. Throughout the year, dedicated individuals gift their time and skills to realize our mission and facilitate the important work of increasing LGBT2Q+ representation in film and society. Year-round volunteers We’re busy year-round planning the Festival, organizing fundraising events, and coordinating the Out in Schools program. We often need help from Office Volunteers to work behind the scenes, making sure our programs have the support they need to function or Development Volunteers who provide a welcoming face for new donors to engage with. Our Programming Committee supports the work of our Artistic Directors, screening films and providing suggestions for which films speak to our diverse LGBT2Q+ communities. Festival volunteers In the lead up to the VQFF, we connect with a variety of community events to spread the word about the Festival. Our Street Team is a key component of the Festival’s promotions strategy and a group of ambassadors for Out On Screen. Volunteer Drivers help our teams get to special events before and during the Festival, and sometimes get to chauffeur VIP artists visiting Vancouver. The Festival Guide wouldn’t be a success without our Guide Copy Editors who lovingly craft the words framed by photos snapped by our Volunteer Photographers. Our Social Medialites make sure everyone is reading and tweeting about the Festival. Check out our current volunteer positions here or register below to share your skills and passions.
